Have thought of setting up a system like @Gator 's for the lambing pens for a coupla years now but the sheep start lambing next week and still havn't got round to setting it up so yet another year will go by with filling buckets with water for the ewes.
Tried a couple of frontera Rams last year. Lambs were very fast to their feet, grew fairly fast off grass and had good feet but didn't kill out as good as the texel & charlois.
A friend of mine told me last week that over here (in n.ireland ) that to be quality assured you now can't bed with sawdust. It has to be straw but I'm not sure if it's true or not. Anyone else got any info on this?
As far as I know the best way is teaser in for 14 days then teaser out and tup straight in. U have to be careful to keep the ewes well away from any tups in the run up to putting the teasers in too.
