I will second that one, I have Dunlop purofort myself at present - not glamorous but warm, good grip too. I wear them with the tops turned down which are ideal for a longer working day, & no flapping at the top... Nice and tight in winter once turned down...

I bought a pair of Dunlop Puroforts only last year, must say likewise, Never had cold feet, great grip, I wear them with the tops turned down, find them trendy and damn good to wear. They are one of a very few brands of wellies around nowadays that you can turn down the tops to your requirement....

I have a pair of dunlop purofort wellies on the go - I never cut off low down, but turn down the tops for the summer always... more comfortable that way :)

Thanks for advising me of the correct term "gumboots" I am for sure an Irishman, still wearing turned down wellies these days. Rare enough nowadays !!

Yes, indeed you are not wrong in saying fishermen wear their wellies with the tops turned down. Anytime I take a ferry crossing to a Island off West Cork here in Ireland, I nearly always wear my wellies turned down.

Yes, indeed most farmers out my part of the Country kept 2 pairs of wellingtons. I had 2 pairs up until last Autumn. On the farm one needs 2 pairs really ?

I have only 1 pair of wellies for the farm at present, & they are Dunlop Purofort and they are turned down. Most Lads generally have 2 pairs, so I must get another pair any day.
