I'm wondering if its possible to do dairy costings without a consultant or feed rep doing them?

With the cost of electricity looking to sky rocket, does anyone have experience of small on farm wind turbines ? Or any usage saving ideas? Our main electric use is running the motors for the milking parlour twice a day and cooling the milk.

I dont have either haha.

Hi all, I have 135 Wilson cubicles with mattress beds , have used straw on them for years. thinking of other bedding options with straw being dearer and dearer year on year and the machinery required for straw bedding, what would be a good alternative bedding ? Thanks

Few years ago I had the same, it really irritated my face, to the point it looked as though I had a serious condition! After a process of allimination and several Dr visits, came to the conclusion it was paracetic acid causing it, its in darn near everything!

Did think i could bale it up, least then its not spread in the clamp, best of a bad job ;/

Yeh a few lumps but mainly dried out straw, was fairly rotted, but dried out after spreading due to warm weather, grass has grown and pushed it up!

I'm wishing id done the same just after i spread it. its not more than 30cm tall, not very heavy crop as Organic. I did wonder if im too late to run through with spring tine harrows
