    Pond reinstatement

Looks the same basic idea as an orifice chamber - which is a flow control chamber with a weir wall with a hole in it. So the hole lets out a trickle flow but in high/floods the weir is overtopped.

    Brexit is destroying Britain

It's a bit stark but essentially it's just demographic changes. That's not an unusual thing to consider in political discourse.

Surely expecting people to die is a certainty.

    Doesn't make it alright

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance You can view tolerance as a social norm and be opposed to anyone rejecting that social norm.

    Battery for house

Without solar panels, yes. With solar panels I'd get a battery and a small generator that can be used manually. The higher losses are made up for by the free solar energy.

    Battery for house

Givenergy, Tesla or pylontech modular are your best bet. If you have an AC linked battery any solar will be compatible. Getting off grid power needs a bit more thinking about - Tesla and givenergy have off the shelf solutions for that for an auto switchover. How long they last depends on how...

    The Rwanda Plan

Surely this means he can be properly deported under existing laws and following due process? Rather than spending millions per person on this shambles of a scheme.

    Angela Rayner CGT Saga

True, I respect her overcoming the challenges in her younger life too!

    Angela Rayner CGT Saga

Sure, social mobility these days is better than it was. But it's not easy and I stand by saying that very, very few people from her background have ever made it to the top levels of one of one of the main political parties. Welcome to hear examples of others/

    Angela Rayner CGT Saga

It's not unusual to talk about the class you were born/brought up in as your 'class'. I don't agree with her politics but I do have respect for what she's achieved. Very, very few people born in her situation could rise to the position she has.

When did a UK prime minister ever congratulate a police officer for shooting a criminal?

What incident in the UK are you thinking of? I don't believe any PM has criticised the legitimate use of deadly force, have they?

    Brexit is destroying Britain

I am utterly opposed to them but they should still be able to hold their jamboree.

    Replacing a cement panel roof

Big difference is cherry pickers have controls in the basket. Too many examples of mancages resulting in crushing or tipping the workers out. I wouldn't use mancage on a telehandler for indoor work where there's a crush risk. The driver can't see and it doesn't take much movement in the wrong...

    Brexit is destroying Britain

I don't think anyone would be too keen on ERM Mk2. Was single market or customs union asked?

What would Russia winning the war look like for Agriculture?

As long as we keep free enterprise and democracy I'm not too worried. Autocrats like to make a song and a dance about Western 'bickering' - trying to make the point that a 'strong man' leader means stability. They (deliberately) avoid the point that the bickering is the strength of Western...
