    Prostate cancer

Great news sodbuster, you obviously have a very caring, thorough GP, just as I did. As he says, if over 50 (or with a family history of it and breast cancer, which is related) get checked out. Just a blood test to start with, painless. Do it !!

Had a lesson in an R22 about25 odd years ago, very twitchy I thought in my inexperienced way. Really would love to have a go in a Bell 47 though. When I grew potatoes back in the 70s I had blight spraying done with a piston engined Bell 47 and would often cadge a flight before the spraying...

    Prostate cancer

Good article in Tuesdays' daily mail about prostate cancer, worth a read for every male with or without the cancer. Advances in medical science are helping many more people with the big C.

    Prostate cancer

Without wishing to influence you or your urologist/oncologist I bave a friend who had his removed and is suffering with incontinence etc etc and 'will never be a man again'. The urologist I saw steered me down the radio and hormone route for which I shall be forever grateful. Just saying.....:(

    Prostate cancer

Thanks for that silverfox, no side effects from the radio but hormone treatment is not very pleasant....a small price to pay imo.

    Prostate cancer

I've had it, picked up by a random blood test in 2013.... 37 doses of radiotherapy and then a hormone jab for 3 years after. PSA is now undetectable. I had no classic symptoms, ie getting up to pee in night etc but mri scan picked it up, then biopsy and radio. Prostate cancer will easily spread...
