    Yes you are right, I have a couple of 8ft ones weighing 3t each. I modified the frame of one of them to be able to use them as a pair. Takes some dragging at 6t, but they make a cracking job

    welger ap630 needle protection

    As you have noticed there is no ram stop on the Welgers. Why did the shearbolt break? Are you sure that's what caused the needles to be left in the chamber? I only ask as we had something similar with our 730 some years ago. The spring loaded dog on the RHS of the knotter stack that is released...

    Choke will make the mixture more rich so it will run but probably not very well under load if you have limited fuel flow. Another option, it could be drawing excess air and weakening the mixture. Check all gaskets and seals and the intake manifold itself for air leaks

    If it will only run with the choke out, it would indicate a lack of fuel flow to the carb. Perhaps a blocked tap on the bottom of the tank, or sediment bowl strainer mesh?
