NFU claiming credit for 25% SFI cap

NFU claims have been fanciful for years. Urea, pesticide tax, red diesel glyphosate etc. all claim to have been saved by NFU and them alone. In fact the truth is many others had input and often the best decision was reached in spite of the NFU not because of them. DEFRA capped SFI to try...

Red Tractor Officially Scrap The GFC

The trade will always want one standard for grain otherwise grain trading becomes a logistical nightmare, it is why they insist on RT for everything even when it is not necessary. I am sure they would be happy with no assurance or a passport declaration so long as it was excepted by the majority...

    Sulky fertitest app

My understanding is orign may import urea from different manufacturers around the world so we need to test what sorce we have in the bags delivered to farm. You can search urea on the site and maybe identffy a match to your sample. I checked a couple one was 135 the other 142 so 133 may be...

    Sulky fertitest app

I use the Lemken version but I think it is exactly the same. I use the shaker box thing and go for the closest match for urea and blends. Tray test and usually pretty close maybe one number up or down.

    Impossible position AHA advice please

It may be the this is a case where agents and lawyer get two parties who agree to distrust each other by delaying what has been agreed. No money to be made by them if it's all over a couple of weeks.i Something like this needs to go backwards and forwards for years so they can get their share of...

    Is SFI panicking farming suppliers?

Not sure the coal industry is a good example. Miners lost their jobs but there was redundancy and some new job creation. We all rember it happened though. The clothes/shoe industries would be better example. Big small and medium firms going slowly bankrupt as their produce was sourced from...

AHDB study into imported grain standards

Is £38,000 to £40,000 going to get a person/organisation with the expertise and determination to do this job diligently? There are a lot of information needed which we have found impossible to access, you will not get much more than what'we already know for £40k.in my opinion

My understanding on methane was that removing one methane atom has the same effect as removing 256 CO2 atoms. Threrfore to achieve a quick fix with the numbers you kill the cows and keep on flying.

    Worms and lead shot

Used in old paint as well, we killed some cattle by using an old painted door to block a gap. They licked it and died not sure how much you need to kill but the door was still green.

We have one of each, i prefer the old system too but if you learn to assign functions to the new commandpro it can become second nature too. 12 for auto steer, spools on A and B, and now you don't miss those spools along the front. very good with the front and rear mowers.
