    Slurry Store dismantling.

I have at grain silo to dismantle and was looking for some advice/tips on how to split the sheets once we have removed bolts? I’m guessing the mastic will be a b**ch to remove! Any help much appreciated!

    Lleyn x Cheviot

Great looking lambs! Will the lleyn tup over a chev ewe throw a similar lamb to the chev tup over a lleyn ewe? I have a stock of chev ewes on the hill now and have bought some chev/lleyns to make up numbers until I have enough of my own pure chevs coming through.Breeding chev mules just now...

    Antibiotics.

We add copper sulphate in with our formalin foot bath for CODD. We are also about to concrete a footbath for water before the current bath because hardcore based pens can get dirty.

New cattle catcher made locally to York

Anyone use a calf catcher behind the quad with success? I think it would suit us to be able to tag our calves in the calving field sooner after birth and shift to a fresh field. I’ve only really seen a portequip one here and think it’s too small and low. If I thought it was actually possible...

    Polyposts

Following this thread with interest, I bought some of the new type last summer and they are shocking! Haven’t used them much yet but end up p’d off every time I move them. How much are the other brands costing? Think I paid 80p/ post for older Rutland type.

    Electric snacker options?

Once it’s turned on it stops counting and I can’t be turned off. Have to pull plug to stop it it and just hope the shutter isn’t open when you pull the plug. Once it was was a broken wire on snacker and the other times it has been the control box. We are onto our third control box.

    Electric snacker options?

We have a chapman snacker, very well built but the electrics let it down. We had a logic before build quality wasn’t as good but the electrics never missed a beat. I like being able to count the ewes as they come to the snacker in groups on the hill and feed according rather than have to gather...

    Storing Fence Wire

Do you mean plastic electric fence wire? We get empty reels off the mig welder to gather them up for winter. A friend lathed out a centre to suit them and attach onto the battery drill. Think they hold about 400/450m.

    Electric fences for deer

We are planning to sow some main crop turnips soon but the last time we sowed turnips the crop was ruined by red deer. They skinned the outside of most of the turnips and the left the rest to rot before we grazed them. The field has a standard height fence round it- netting and one barb. What...

    Stock fencing

I am thinking of trying some type of metal fence posts for some of our next fences, what's your reason for using Hampton over the clipex posts?

    Combi clamp and tag reader

I dangle ours from a bungee cord, it will read 90% without touching it and the rest I have to pull the reader down to read the tag but I can just let go of the reader again because it's on the cord. Far from perfect but the cheapest easiest option I could find!

    Sheep scab

Think I'd be too far north for you but I do appreciate well made equipment! Do the sheep run up a ramp directly onto the pen that gets dropped into the tank?

    Sheep scab

@The sheep dipper man . Being nosey here, can you put up pictures of your dipper? Looks a good set up!
