I’m thinking it’s literally no different to using your own money. If price drops you’re going to loose it wether it’s mine yours or the banks etc. it’ll just allow for a bit of flexibility.
I’ve noticed a lot of adverts for 0% for 6-12month credit cards recently.
Is anyone buying their store lambs/cattle with them? Is it too good to be true? Seems a good way to me because you’ll have the lambs bought, fed and money back in the bank then just pay the card off? Anyone got any advice?
What do you need in the way of operators licenses, checks, insurances etc to have your own livestock/straw lorry for your own use. I’m just talking a 4 or 6 wheeler. Mainly leading livestock to and from the mart or between land then straw at harvest time.
Does anyone have any ontops laid about for sale? Nothing immaculate, I’m just after something that starts and runs and drives. Not particularly bothered if the spreaders don’t work or doesn’t have on one etc. just fancying a project.
thanks
What sort of money would you have to spend to buy an ontop, maybe a bit rougher one? I may be in the market to buy one in the near future. Just after a little bit of an easy project. Lime body etc doesn’t have to work aslong as it runs and drives and works mechanically etc. any for sale?

I’ll probably get shot down for this but
Has anyone got a slatted pig fattening shed but just laid out like a normal shed on the outside like cement fibre roof and Yorkshire boarding? Currently have pigs on straw yards so they manage with No insulation etc.
would it work? Any advice?
Hi, I currently have fattening pigs on straw yards but thinking about putting a building up with slats.
would anyone be able to advise on a rough costing per pig place for this? Or any advice regarding it. I’ve got no experience with slats so thought I’d ask a question or two on here
thanks
I’ve not rang round any reps yet as I was wondering if anyone else was on with it already so I’ve not heard any prices. As the cattle are still getting cake I don’t think they’ll need loads of molasses if that makes sense. Just want something a little more nutritious than normal molasses so the...
It seems to at the moment as I’ve plenty of straw but don’t have too much silage. I’ve only started this thread to see what other peoples thoughts are to be fair as I’ve not started feeding any straw and liquid feed yet. I’ll have to sit down and put pen to paper but folks round here are wanting...
I plan to still feed silage to the cattle but just gripe them a little bit one end of the day because I’m finding they just waste it in feeders etc ( pull it through) and they grow a big belly. The straw idea is more for keeping the belly right while they’re getting goodness from the liquid feed
I was thinking about soaking it through a bale of straw if that makes sense. I just have good access to straw and the silage heap is getting smaller every day. Was hoping the molasses/straw combined would give similar feed value. People asking £40 a bale for silage just makes me wonder
I was just on with feeding silage but I decided to just try and give them a bit of a shine over and buy and feed a mouthful of cake (rightly or wrongly I don’t know!) I have everything from b&w bullocks to pure limi’s. I was just thinking to have the straw ad-lib with some molasses or something...
I tend to give them around 2kg of beef nuts per head per day along with silage and straw but thinking the way the silage job is try to get them to eat more straw and the liquid feed would sort of compensate a little for the lack of silage. I might be wrong?
