Horsch avatar for no till seeding

Horizon DSX manages better penetration with far less weight which is important. Been there and done that with beans on heavy clay comparing both drills. Closes the slot much better as well. Penetration and closing is the disadvantage for vertical design openers.

RDS Artemis seed drill controller issues

Hi, Has anyone had issues with tramlining valves controlled by RDS Artemis? Occasionally one side of the tramlining valves do not get any electricity even if symmetrical mode is selected.

RDS Artemis metering unit on/off switch

Hi, Could anyone help if there is an option to fit a physical switch to manually turn metering units on/off? The GPS switch at the moment is not an option and would like to reduce the seed spillage at the headlands.

    Horizon DSX experiences

A report from Latvia. Some WOSR on 40 cm spacing drilled with rowcleaners adjusted to work aggressively ( 90% of wheat due to the storm was logged and drilled 10 days after harvest). And the boring stuff.. WB on cultivated light land and notill wheat. Successful notill starts with good...

    CHC Nav

What parts are you missing (been broken?). We have installed few of those and so far works without any issues. They have warehouse in Budapest so getting parts is not that difficult. Any way, we will have them in stock as well, but for whole system there is DHL Express option which is not that...

    Horizon DSX experiences

They are set to work anywhere between 10-60 bar of down pressure. On cultivated soils we are typically using mostly 10 bar, in direct drilling depending on soil type 20-40 bar. The most we have used is 50 bar when establishing spring beans (7 cm) on very dry, hard high Mg heavy clay soil. In...

    Horizon DSX experiences

We have tested DSX drill in Latvia in heavy clay soils versus Novag and Avatar drills. By far the most capable dril notill disc drill for various cropping conditions we have run here . Does not like very light soils that have been cultivated without being pressed. You may end up with the seed at...

    Mzuri Drills

There are few of these in our area. 4 m require around 300 hp, I have not seen a smaller tractor than quadtrack, xerion, rx or tracked axion in front of the 6 m drill. With that being said, huge capital investments are required (4 m drill can be over 200k EUR (select model), 6 m drill depending...

Best tine drills for cover crops?

Unidrill/Easydrill is very bad in terms of trash flow. No room between the row units. This comes from 1 year EasyDrill owner. The row units should be arranged on two beams.

    Struggling to successfully drill peas

Could be. Next year I will defenitely use rake before drilling and perhaps broadcast starter fert before raking. In June I will drill small 2 ha peas cover crop for winter wheat and experiment with different depths, fert, no fert and rolling, not rolling. Of course it will not be spring anymore...

    Struggling to successfully drill peas

Temperature could be a factor. Where there is no trash it has germinated much better. Although, the soil may have been cold at the time of the drilling, but definitely it was not wet and basically no rain since drilled.

    Spring drilling advice

11 days after drilling with the disc drill Heavy land, previous crop buckwheat, 3 cm depth, rolled after drilling. 30 kg N + 7 kg S along with the seed, 30 kg N, 30 kg P, 30 kg K, 22 kg S broadcasted before drilling. My first try at no till SB. Almost no rain this spring and the weather is...
