Thankyou Sir, that was the answer I needed. My guess is that my stub axles are Ford Pilot, or Ford pickup truck. It's case closed now, but I am looking for a set of stubs! Do you have a spare set?

What I am trying to find, is someone who can actually answer my question. Are my wheels wrong or are my stub axles wrong? I think it is the stubs that are wrong but I need someone who actually owns one to check my measurements.

The measurement shows the length of the stub axle. I'm sorry, but I thought that was pretty obvious, given that the ruler is beside it. I believe the wheels are N, but dont know for sure. It's evident that something isn't right. The stub axle is too short for the wheel, but which bit is wrong...

They started ok I believe. Never had one, but noone complains about them. So, the difference then? ( yes, I can count cylinders) Are they higher compression than the 4 cylinder?

That's it then, heaters being the difference. It surprised me that Majors are direct injection, given their age. If all of the competition was direct injection, it stands to reason that a 23c was never going to start as good. I guess the 3cyl 35 engines were direct injection too?
