I've had big interdigital growths on cattle before which I treated with dry ice spray.
Don't know if you can still get it, but it was the spray that you could DIY freeze brand with.
Daily spraying/freezing of the growth. end eventually died back to a manageable size.
your black pipe section will probably be the best place to start looking for leaks.
The estate we are on had lots of Class D pipe in, gave up repairing leaks and bursts and simply put a new system in.
find a local dairy farmer who will be willing to talk you through it.
Chances are they will have multiple calvings /month and cattle that are better to handle.
Of course though, one of the golden rules of calving is don't intervene if it can be avoided.
I think you will find that very rew, if any, farmers have told govt. that it is ok to use medicated feed to suppress methane emissions. Farmers representatives on the other hand.....
