oh sorry,
I try to buy off farm, I find the rams at the sales are too pumped with meal,
there is a sale in Tullow shortly but I believe a very small entry
there will be entries in the sheep ireland sales in tullamore & roscrea in august
this spring lambing started about 12 th of january...
mostly to Irish Country Meats (ICM) Camolin wexford
I am not knocking the charolais I'm sure you have super lambs especially from Texel ewes,
we found they wernt able for the hash climate in this area for early lambing , if we were mid season or late lambing the ch might be more suitable
sourcing more HD this year, Terminal only , all lambs are slaughtered in factory @ between 18.5 and 21 kgs mostly R3 and 4 with about 10% hitting U3
I sell on a flat rate price so no grading bonus, we start lambing mid january onwards and out of doors asap
last February we had 10 days heavy...
running some blue faced leicester x texel mules here & intending to buy some mayo mules at the the sale , also have some pure Lleyn
have been wondering which ram to put with these for replacements... and tossing between texel, belclare & lleyn
as I already have have texel & lleyn...
I ran A HD on pure Lleyn ewes last year & am happy with lambs, actually a couple of them went to the factory in the last bunch
BTW some super sheep in the pics , well done to owners & thanks for sharing
