Had a virgin balloon land on stubble a week or two ago, they didn’t bat an eye at £40. (Ballon was behind a locked gate so not much room for negotiation!)
Very true, but having seen take all and what should have been a 8.5t milling wheat reduced to a 5t crop, it concentrates the mind a little! I use it on 2nd wheats drilled before mid October. Don’t bother on the continuous wheat now going into year 8.
Personally I’d change to a 4m hybrid. Went from 3 to 4m a couple of years ago and the increase in output was well worth it. Wouldn’t want to loose the leading tine aspect of the drill. 35ha is easily achievable with a 4m drilling @200kgs/ha (may not be the shortest day but can do it)
