I start of getting my dogs to catch lambs when out lambing then move on to ewes later all I do is try to catch the lamb or ewe and just keep saying catch They usual get the idea have one dog that I don't have to say catch he just seams to know

I use heiniger myself I feel they hold there grind better but they are dear have used Horner combs in the past nowt wrong with them there ok for the money without being rude if your only doing a few hundred you won't notice any difference

One of my better dogs was 3 when I got her last man said she was to fast and couldn't be broken how wrong he was , I usually don't bother Mutch with them until they are near a year old for proper training , depends on the dog and the handler tho

The key to shearing them is to do it as fast as you can to get it over with ;) Have always found them to be good combing tho oh and most old boys round here don't like it when you take the top knot off don't know why it make any difference
