Wow mixed reactions all round, my initial post was to ascertain the serial no and age the vehicle, general consensus is that it's a genuine plate and number putting year of manufacture to 1970, I myself searched for serial number details on the web and could not achieve this so I'm happy with...
Guys brilliant advice all round, pleased about the plate being original, I'm not sure what the dash layout should be, I've just surfed the web for information (dangerous and time consuming pastime)
Fixing the multipower doesn't faze me I've had my head and hands in worse places than a gearbox...
MrNoo you may well be correct I've tried to find suitable images of the 175 , I'm sure I've seen some with the multipower lever on the left side where that label is,

Well if the issue with the multipower involves splitting the tractor then I will replace what's required to get it fully functioning, theres a slim possibility that the linkage was worn/play hindering engagement, bit difficult to investigate more until I own the tractor, my initial concern...
But surely with the clutch pressed down itll come out rather than knocking it out of gear
Been driving an old dumper for years with hand crank start, half a turn of steering play with no brakes so used to being ready to jump!
