You could use an 80/90 gear oil but we use an EP00 liquid grease. Does a good job at lubricating and if a seal does go it wont pure out before you've released. We put it in our bat wing gear boxes too.

If you are still looking, might be worth enquiring with Haynes. They have a second hand carrier 650.
