Had a look at mine today and can see it does seem too flexible and does vibrate in use. I'm sure this has probably caused metal fatigue around the joint with the base. Can't believe it costs that much, that's nearly 20%of the value of my tractor! Just hope you can get it welded.

Does anyone here know where the timing marks are on a Perkins 1004.40T oil pump/ balancer shaft? Disassembled the motor to get the crank reground, and the gears in the timing case are all clearly marked, but nothing on the balancer shaft gears. Surely it would need to be timed? Tia.
