Best way too get insurance for a young driver.

My daughter turned 17 in Sep 22, provisional insurance on a Peugeot 107 was £250. Passed her test a month later, insurance went up to £800 with Tesco Box insurance. Has a black box, but no curfews. You get bonus miles for ”good“ driving. Renewed in Oct 23, £420 a year. My wife and I are both...

Local planning authorities huge disparity between decisions

I keep telling people that it isn’t a vote system. Local brewery just had a large beer garden retrospective application turned down. 360 support, 3 objections. Unfortunately the 3 objections were all valid, and the support had little to do with planning policy. However, I do think that when...

    Podger

A 24mm spanner is for a nominal M16 nut, and 19mm spanner for M12, so I’d hope the podger would have that size to align for the bolt.

    Genuine parts prices

A friend had a Honda CR-V high pressure diesel pump fail. Dealer wanted £2.5k for the pump. Mate works at the Honda factory and checked their parts database. Honda pay Bosch about £60 for the pump.

Are any TFF members neighbours of Sarah Beenys house?

The point is that they claimed they were going to build that for £500k. No way, unless the ICFs, stone and slate were free. I think we all ask for discounts, but the amount they receive for ’free’ tv advertising is at a different level.

Are any TFF members neighbours of Sarah Beenys house?

planning history here, last three relate to the new house and barn conversions: https://publicaccess.southsomerset.gov.uk/online-applications/propertyDetails.do?activeTab=relatedCases&keyVal=PZRSBBOW0LB03 I’d be interested to know how they did on their £500k budget. I suspect they got massive...

Are any TFF members neighbours of Sarah Beenys house?

She has also been granted PP to extend the new house of a bigger kitchen/boot room, as well as permission to convert the barns into five four bedroom houses. Should make a few quid.

    Bird flu national lockdown

I cant find the actual legislation for this “lockdown”. Last time the legislation included a get out that put their welfare first. Can‘t currently think of a way to humanely/economically secure my four hybrid pet chickens.

    National grid alert

If you fancy a laugh, ask National Grid about STOR contracts. These are the balancing contracts that are supposed to make up the shortfall. They can‘t get enough of them. Carbon trading has lead to a shortfall of new dependable power generation. As a consequence environmental derogations have...

    Milling machine Essex to Wiltshire

Thanks for your help Roscoe Erf. Still struggling to find someone with a Hiab to move this machine. I have spoken to three people who have said they can do it, and have promised to call me back with a price, but still no calls! Anybody have any recommendations? I've had one quote but it was...

    Milling machine Essex to Wiltshire

Size is 6'3 high, 5'7" wide and 5'3" deep. Unsure of the situation at Essex end, but I know they don't have the facility to load it. Realise that is probably going to be a problem for you. Resigning myself to the fact that I will probably have to pay for a hiab to lift/transport. :-( At this...
