How to store a chain harrow?

It's been a bugbear of mine for years, how to store the chain harrow? It's not a very big chain harrow, I think it's probably 2 metres wide by 2 metres long. It's the perfect tool for the job when we need it but for several months of the year it just sits around getting in the way, plus it...

Registering a 'fairly new' tractor, how easy is it?

I recently bought a Kubota STV36 which is only a few years old. It's not got a V5 and I was wondering how easy (and costly) it is to get it registered (and insured?) for road use. It has a factory fitted cab and presumably has all the required type approvals as one often sees STV36s for sale...

What's a good way to place 4" posts?

Re Clipex - wire is definitely out so that's a non-starter really. Square posts would be OK, but why are they easier to knock in? Creosoted posts would last longer but they still won't last for ever. I'm quite happy to replace a couple of posts a month, I'm just looking for the easiest way...

What's a good way to place 4" posts?

Do clipex mix with electric fencing?

What's a good way to place 4" posts?

So what's the alternative to "tanalised posts" (not that they're really tanalised nowadays).

What's a good way to place 4" posts?

We have a 9 acre smallholding with electric fencing strung around on (mostly) 4" round posts. I thus have an ongoing need to replace these, probably one or two a month. Up until now I've used a manual post knocker but I'm getting older and when the ground is hard it's very hard work. So I'm...

Verge flail mower for Kubota STV36 - recommendations?

No threads on this forum which is a bit of a pain.... However, looking at the Weaving Machinery verge flail mowers they seem to be comparable in weight with the Bowell Tractor BCRL (i.e. 'light') series. Thus I think I should probably be looking at the BCRL115 or the BCRL135 for my STV36...

Verge flail mower for Kubota STV36 - recommendations?

That's rather wider than I want, I need something in the 1 to 1.3 metre sort of width. The 1.35 metre BCRM weighs a bit over 400kg so maybe it would be a bit too much for my STV36. All useful information everyone, thank you.

Verge flail mower for Kubota STV36 - recommendations?

Stock, that's exactly the make I was referring to in my original post, so, interesting - thank you. The BCRL series are the lightest ones and the BCRM series the next weight up. I'm trying to decide whether to go for the light or medium one.

Verge flail mower for Kubota STV36 - recommendations?

Yes, Wessex are the UK agents now I think. Too expensive for me new but I might stretch to a second-hand one. The ZME155 *might* be a bit big for me but, on the other hand, maybe not as it would do the paddock work more quickly. How soon is yours likely to be for sale? We're in Suffolk so...

Verge flail mower for Kubota STV36 - recommendations?

I have a Kubota STV36, 36HP, two double-acting spools, etc. I'm looking for a verge flail mower to put on it for a mix of work on our smallholding (9 acres or so). It will be used for:- * A bank along the private track at the front of our property, 45 degree slope up from the road, not very...

    Kubota Owners Club

The other trouble with http://www.orangetractortalks.com/ is that, being a US site, they know nothing about Kubota's European models such as the ST/STV/STW series. It's *incredibly* difficult to find out much about these models. Also Kubota are very uptight about cross-border sales, you can't...

Kubota B and ST series compact tractors, opinions

As noted in another thread we're looking to buy a (used) compact tractor to replace our ageing Iseki TU318 and a Kubute T1600H mower. Recently we have bought a Stiga 'out front' mower which deals with the lawns around the house, the new tractor will be for topping, harrowing, etc. of the...

Hydrostatic drive - which makes are 'single pedal'?

I'm a smallholder looking to buy a compact tractor to replace an ageing Iseki TU318. We also have a (wearing out) Kubota T1600H which has 'single pedal' HST transmission. The HST makes mowing (and other things) so easy that I'm looking for a compact tractor with HST. However not all HST...
