A year to show up 120 year + old drainage systems

Also don’t forget they did it all in pretty basic clothing/ footwear. I know they couldn't even imagine what we have now, but it certainly would make the toll on the body far harder. I don’t like having cold or wet feet!

    storage compound on a field

It will depend upon how much they need to be on your land so proximity and access to where they need to get to. Can’t really comment further without knowing more.

    Unregistered land

Pretty sure the cgt duty rests with the person getting the gain. Most sols won’t even do the calcs or return for you.

    Impossible position AHA advice please

Agreed - if the lease is under model clauses? Mine for example isn’t and specifically restricts the right to resume possession to bare land, not buildings.

    Water burst under yard

I would forget about the old pipe, you could waste ages and find you can’t get all the way through it because it has crushed or something. you need to find someone with one of those worm things and just stick a new one in. ideally a private water main contractor for a reasonable fee on their...

    Impossible position AHA advice please

What are they getting in exchange for doing the first part of the deal? That’s where you hold the cards. do they have termination provisions in the existing tenancy in the event of a planning consent? If not are they trying to insert these in the succession tenancy? Or are they inserting a right...

    Lamma 2024

    Renting farmland from family question

Land let on FBT will get full iht relief, but sounds like CFA also worth exploring, would let you build up a contracting business of your own which could expand to do more elsewhere if opportunities arose.

    Lamma 2024

That’s sort of the point, I would rather have zones I could target or avoid, and then rather than walking around what felt like randomly, I could focus on finding and seeing suppliers I didn’t know existed. I have no interest in forage equipment, but wanted to look at grain drying, felt there...

    Lamma 2024

I found it very difficult to navigate round efficiently, thought it could have been zoned better. Was only there to look at a few specific things, walked past lots of stands of no interest and no doubt missed lots that would have been.

Grain store roof replacement or overcladding?

Dont forget you can get enhanced capital allowances if you remove the asbestos, overcladding would just be a repair. cost of asbestos disposal is only going up.

Can we be given a FBT if we are not a Business?

To keep in repair is to put in repair if necessary. End of. Established property law. the only get out is if it says “keep in repair, no better condition than evidenced in the schedule of condition”
