It's not multi power the pipe in question goes up to the oil cooler. As a short term fix could I close the pipe a little to restrict flow and mimic the pressure maintaining valve at the oil cooler and then with a gauge on the Ipto test port open or close the pipe to give 250 psi to hold Ipto...

I have a MF 290 that has a burst pipe on the flow from the auxillary pump to the oil cooler. I was hoping to just blank off the port on the pump as the tractor does very little work and to replace the pipe would be mean splitting the tractor. My question is if I blank the flow port would this...

Most of the 4200 series Massey ferguson do smoke alot especially the 4270 and 4260 these are reknown for putting off second hand buyers who assume it its engine wear.I dont know what causes this as the perkins 1006-6 is used in lots of other machines without the heavy breathing .
