My ewes and lambs have, well I think have enough grass, but loving the fodder beet, and definitely happier since having it for a week, so obviously did need it!
Lay a trap, they will be back, it’s bad though when people are stealing from there own, it must be a farmer because no one else would know what those bits are
We dipped some ewes last week that the poor lady had jabbed five times and hadn’t worked, I blame the reps, people believe what they are told, the reps shouldn’t be advising a product that they know probably won’t work
Cage dips are excellent, but mine is also very gentle on in lamb ewes, as the entry is more like a child’s slide in and a gentle slope out, also because we are dipping a sheep at a time, we can see any problems, where a heap of sheep in a cage, no one can see what’s going on , once they are...
Until last week the weather has been kind, arable farmers keen to work ground after turnips, dairy farmers not keen to have hoggs for so long due to cost of fertiliser, hoggs have done really well so more on market than expected, also the family on the street have only had one pay day since...
Ewes are a very hot trade at the moment, but surely can only get shorter. As for the hoggs people should hold there nerve and stop talking them down, any one who still has them now surly can hold them till April, two festivals and Easter, less spring lambs will be on creep due to the cost this year
I don’t think the merchants should even be selling the injectables for scab, it’s dishonest, I lot of people believe the person behind the counter that the product will work, and it clearly doesn’t
Big numbers are possible, depending on moves, sheep running well, and people helping, best day we had last summer was 3300 odd, but every thing went well and it was a long day, call if you want to talk further 07947647913
With respect Highland Mule, I really don’t see why you are so interested in this post, you must have special powers to be able to see into my dairy. You really have no idea what work I have that might be close to there, let’s just leave the matter there
