No it didn't work at all for me. I put estrotects on 15 days after the second jab and then proceeded to AI a very even 5-8 a day for the next three weeks. My vets couldn't really understand or suggest why it hadn't worked but it wasn't something they have come across before anyway. Conception...
I had a play on a Kubota L2 yesterday and was really impressed. If buying a machine that has a small engine and hydrostatic drive it feels sensible to chose a manufacturer that specializes in that like Kubota. None of the JD is likely to be genuine JD, just bought in parts painted green.
I don't know Tom and I'm not defending the guy if everything seen is true but like most of these things I suspect there's another side to the story. My first assumption wouldn't be to believe everything said by a trespassing animal rights activist.
There are 30 calves in that group of which...
I can't remember if it was milk link or when we were with OMSCo when we the tanker driver would just leave out a block of cheddar as big as your leg. That was much better.
Has anyone ever killed a cow with mag in the vein?
When we got hit by the beast from the east in 2018 I had a cow break her leg. All roads were impassable and it would have been a 4 or 5 mile walk through 3 feet of snow to get a gun so I tried to euthanize her with mag. It was a few years ago...
We do but it's on the old farm where we keep the heifers. The heifer farm is short narrow cubicle passages and the dairy is big open yards. The bobcat is painfully slow in a big yard.
I agree, the MX is the only tractor that we've ever bought new and we got it the week I finished school. I've done most of it's 12k hours and I never thought I'd get rid of it. I still change my mind most days at the moment but I know the sensible thing to do is move it on while it has a...
Thanks. I was looking slightly larger at the L2 452 and it's now £34k . The equivalent Kioti is £28. The Kubotas seem to hold their value incredibly well if tidy.
Currently scraping with an old MX110 which has become unreliable but should still trade in for a reasonable value.
Does anyone run a little Kubota or Kioti hydrostatic as a scraper tractor?
I'm looking for something reliable that milking guys and girls rather than tractor types can use.
No, I bought another 10 jfc ones. I really like the JFC ones, they're sturdy and heavy and I didn't want to risk 20k on a hutch I'd never seen. The calf tel ones are completely sh!te and I'd never buy another.
Through FTEF last year 10 X hutches with hurdles cost £18500 and I got £17500...
I'm not sure anyone ever looks in the classified adds so I'll just put them here once.
I have 50-60 Aug/September calvers for sale. There are more jerseys than crossbreds. 25 calved autumn 23, 25 are spring slips from spring 23 and up to 10 heifers (not yet PDd)
They are all still in milk...
Where's the milk coming from? Is this encouraging expansion within Arla, recruitment or pulling milk away from another sector? A lot of Arla milk in the West country, including mine, currently goes upto Aylesbury.
It feels high risk investing so much in a plant that is producing a product...
Where is LW price for these sorts at the moment. I've someone coming to look at 70 blue crosses later this week. They are 23/24m and would be around 500 kg.
