Dreaded day…lambs to go through footbath for first time.
Normally involves lots of shouting and swearing but went surprisingly smoothly.
Reversed the pens after so ready to go thru again when the mob moves again Saturday
lambs went through well
Pen and race ready for Saturday
Great start to the day…,
Found this gate open…..when it should be chained shut.
I never leave chain like that.
problem is there should be 300 ewes plus lambs the other side of it.
Found them scatter all over. Took best part of two hours to get them all back…not very happy at moment...
I’ve set up between 2 fields. Lambs are used to 48 hour moves.
Pen is ready just a funnel to guide them to the race. No gates on race and ewes can see fresh grass at the exit.
Use a foam mat in bottom of the foot bath so no shiny water to put them off, fingers crossed 🤞
Had one this year that lambed unassisted and 2 weeks later blew her guts out. Pedigree shearling to add insult to injury.

Hence being called a double overlap system
That video is slightly flawed tough surely?
The vaccine is a live vaccine so you would still see bacteria in a new bottle as well?
I would like to see a fresh sample of vaccine under the microscope.
And then a further test would be vaccinate two groups of sheep with both new and old vaccines...
No, basically when you push the switch it creates a micro pulse of electric that transmits to the receiver at the light fitting.
Its very clever stuff and very simple to install. Saves a lot of cable runs from light to switch.
One switch can do multiple lights as well. Ive got about 5 of them...
Recently out theses into a very similar shed and very pleased with them and the amount of light.

I’ve also started using kinetic switches which are fully water waterproof and dramatically reduce the amount of wiring...
