    Today at work

Great start to the day…, Found this gate open…..when it should be chained shut. I never leave chain like that. problem is there should be 300 ewes plus lambs the other side of it. Found them scatter all over. Took best part of two hours to get them all back…not very happy at moment...

I’ve set up between 2 fields. Lambs are used to 48 hour moves. Pen is ready just a funnel to guide them to the race. No gates on race and ewes can see fresh grass at the exit. Use a foam mat in bottom of the foot bath so no shiny water to put them off, fingers crossed 🤞

The dog was very worried when she saw me building temp pens and race this afternoon….she knows what to...

I would be having words with them about that. last on farm C section was just hours before beast from the east arrived. And like you had a lot of ewes looking to lamb and needed to get fresh lambs to cover. Said no chance I could get in, 30 mins later one of the partners arrived and did the...

Done both depending on how busy I was. if not manic I don’t mind taking ewe in as cheaper, but I’m only 15 mins away from surgery.

    Patchwork working width setup

wheeling are 24m apart. it spreads to 24m but the outer 6or so meter each side is spread twice on consecutive runs to get an even spread over full 24m. Hence being called a double overlap system

    Patchwork working width setup

It will be a double overlap set up if like mine. I use a patchwork and set at 24m and 12m headland.

Whats going on with MVF ?

That video is slightly flawed tough surely? The vaccine is a live vaccine so you would still see bacteria in a new bottle as well? I would like to see a fresh sample of vaccine under the microscope. And then a further test would be vaccinate two groups of sheep with both new and old vaccines...

    Shed lights

No, basically when you push the switch it creates a micro pulse of electric that transmits to the receiver at the light fitting. Its very clever stuff and very simple to install. Saves a lot of cable runs from light to switch. One switch can do multiple lights as well. Ive got about 5 of them...

    Shed lights

Recently out theses into a very similar shed and very pleased with them and the amount of light. https://www.screwfix.com/p/lap-twin-5ft-led-batten-55w-6300lm-220-240v/115pp I’ve also started using kinetic switches which are fully water waterproof and dramatically reduce the amount of wiring...
