I have finally had a response back from Sontex directly and they said i cant use their meter with glycol if it needs to MID. I will not be using glycol now as don't want to fall foul of any rules.
My preference was to use Kamstrup as they are better quality, however i was advised that the Sontex could handle glycol and retain all approvals for the MID. But now my ofgem inspector has questioned the viability of this. Im waititng for sontex to confirm, i will let you know.
I have a question about Sontex meters and glycol. My Ofgem inspector has questioned the approval markings and the presence of glycol. They are saying if glycol is in the system then it cant be 'MID' approved as this is only for water? Can anyone offer any experience with this issue?
