I've got a bobcat s530 skid steer. The tread pattern of the tyres is very close so it doesn't get a lot of traction whilst on straw bedded cattle courts. I'm looking to put a more open tread tyre on like a tractor tyre or similar. Any recommendations??
Thanks
Ploughing with a neighbour. He has the above. Why does the vari width ram saying it goes to 20inches when it only measures 16. The ram is fully opening and closing. What else can it be?
I was asked to quote for a straw baling job on a neighbouring farm. I initially said £6 a bale 8x4x3 plus fuel. Then said hang on its right next door I'll do for 5.80 as next door. Laughed in my face and said way too expensive. Is it really?
I bought a bunning 150 spreader 1 year ago. Old but gold. Guy I bought it from said it was a 540 machine. It doesn't seem to have a great spread pattern. Just wondered if it maybe should be ran on 1000 pto. Any idea? How would I know? There are no stickers 🤷🏻♂️
I'm looking for some ideas how to set up this shed for lambing 🤷🏻♂️. Also pictured is the layout currently used. There will be 500 ewes lambed in it but not all at once as they come in with they're colours. Maybe need room for 350 at the busiest time. Would like to keep 1s 2s and 3s separate if...
Currently have a 2019 merlo 35.7. Been great up to recently but starting to have a few niggles now around 2500hrs. Looking to change shortly. Just had a demo jcb 38-60 delivered today. Seems to be a nice machine. Think the jcb dealer will have better back up etc. What's everyone's opinion?
How are mixed farms planning to deal with this?
If you are owner occupier there are more options I think like planting poorer ground with trees etc. What would you do as a tenant when all woods trees etc belong to the land owner estate etc. I am struggling to know what to do here 🤷🏻♂️
I've got a load of oat straw lying in 35 feet swaths. Its had rain on it this weekend past and is fairly wet. I've got a wuffler that I could run through it but I think it will take too long to dry this way. I'm considering running through it with the 4 rotor tedder and spreading it out to then...
What's everyone using fuel wise in the silage making process???
I'm at 1tr per bale from mowing, raking baling/ wrapping (fusion) , carting home and stacking. So in some crops 16trs an acre
There is a large area of ground neighbouring me that they are trying to get trees planted on. General consensus in the area is that they are not wanted as it will spoil a very scenic area/view point.
Has anyone had any success stopping planting going ahead?
All surveys have been passed so no...
I've got a Europal 7x on b25 bodies. I would like to try a different body. Local dealer gave me a different 1 away to try today to see if fits. All the bolts fit in the frog but the holes for the stays are in the wrong place. I'm wondering if I buy another stay for each furrow and join the 2...
I've got 40 acres of fodder rape and turnip mix sown after w. Barley in august. I intend to graze ewes on it. Just wondering when would be the best time to utilise it properly? I'm 3weeks into tupping so tups should be finished shortly. The fields are going into spring barley so need grazed off...
