How to free a jammed nut?

@dudders - totally off topic but what is that trike thing in the background of 2 of your photos?

Thanks @CPF . It's interesting that this sort of stuff is available. I was hoping someone was going to say that Claas had it as an option up until the '90s or something, just in terms of the era I might realistically buy a combine from!

Thanks @Wilkster . Do you or anyone else know if other more mainstream (in the UK) combines ever had this option, i.e. Claas / NH etc. ? And when did it stop being something that they had?

    Farm children working hours

Being "busy" seems to be a badge of honour across many parts of society. It's used as an excuse for being late or doing something badly quite often. There's been times in my life when things were very hard and I was very busy, but I did what I could to make things better and be less busy. Making...

@William james - a very late reply to your photo of the pair of Dronningborgs. Were these unusual to have an auger and a bagger like that? I can see a benefit in having a separate collector for the chaff and weed seeds etc. rather than putting them back onto the field. When did they stop having...

East Sussex MPs & RPA want to hear from local farmers

This just arrived in my inbox: May be of interest (?) to anyone from Rother / Hastings areas... I didn't realise Sally-Anne Hart was still alive.

The humble year of an organic farmer

Hi @L P - thanks for replying to all my questions. Inevitably I now have more. That looks a nice cultivator - is it a Cousins? It looks in good condition for £500, or have you refurbed it? The reason I ask is that I am always looking at similar machines on ebay etc. and they always look rough...

The humble year of an organic farmer

Hi @L P - thanks for this thread. A few more questions - I hope you don't mind... Do you find it easy to find a buyer for the rye? I used to grow it, and found a few small outlets for it, but it wasn't easy to find anyone who wanted a lot of it. Which was a shame as it's a really good crop to...

    Behaviour and manners

Sorry, but what a load of cobblers. Apart from anything it doesn't make sense - badly behaved kids take that behaviour with them to school and then that's when social services would start getting interested, if they do at all.

Help me to help a fellow member

A very similar thread to this turned up on Mumsnet quite recently, possibly from X's wife / ex-wife. Had another look but can't see it now, but it's a horrible site to search through. As others have said, it might be better for these people to speak to one another, rather than putting cryptic /...

    David Brown 885

Sorry - painfully slow reply. I no longer run the farm (gave up tenancy) but still rent some shed space while I sort out all the equipment. Inevitably there's always other things to do so tinkering with the tractors etc. keeps getting sidelined. Thanks again everyone - I have tried...

    David Brown 885

I've not been on the forum for a while... Obviously I'm back because I have broken something. The nearside ram on the loader on the DB885 was leaking quite badly, so I removed it and had a local mechanic put a new seal in it for me. Having refitted it, the loader now does not go up and down. The...
