Thanks for the suggestions. It's on the agenda to allow users to select a simpler version of the birth task. same for the other tasks. We won't be touching tasks until after lambing is done. last thing we want is to make a simple change and then jigger up everybody's birth recording if we...
Our software works according to tupping/sire group. A tupping group may have 1 ram or multiple rams. When a lamb is born it inherits the sire group that it's mother was tupped with. If there's one single ram in the group, that ram becomes the sire. if more than one ram, the lamb record displays...
That last post it was actually a psion with an extension stick attached to a weight crate with one female human, one dog and a good crate that achieved 400 lambs per hour. Video is on our website, 6 lambs in 50 seconds = 7 per minute = 420 per hour. Awr300 is just as fast and has better read...
3rd topic on this thread. XR5000. XR5000 can store and display 100 data items for each sheep, if you need to be able to display a lot of data items when weighing then this scale is excellent. Our system generates about 12 data items max that go into an Xr5000. We could go to 100 but nobody has...
Select sheepware has an intensive wool recording section. Designed for morino type sheep, something like 40 plus data items for each fleece. Wool that is laboratory tested can have the results imported from csv. When shearing select sheepware can print a bar coded card to go with the fleece so...
Philipb why don't you use good quality spray on the lambs at birth and pair them to their mothers using an eid tag reader. Then using the same reader correlate the sprayed number to an EID tag at a few weeks old. First lamb born is number 1 2nd is number 2 etc, a good tag reader will allow this...
It's not difficult to identify the most productive ewes if you record. Most productive this year will also be most productive next year. I see it regularly as we work with customer's data. If you sort your sheep so the ones with highest 90 day lamb weights are at the top of the list, then...
All the agrident readers allow full recording directly on the reader with none of the phone issues, wet screen difficult to read, poor battery life. I have a customer with 3500 outdoor lambing easycare sheep. Recording accuracy is around 98% or better. It's not that difficult. 4 apr600s do the...
In relation to the grant the agrident pocket handheld readers and the agrident stick readers all allow recording to the level required for the higher rate of grant. Only 3 of the 5 models however allow user to browse recorded animal data, the apr450 apr600 and awr300.
read range of apr agridents. Tubular tags: worst orientation her in the office (tag completely parallell to the reader ) range is 10 cm. best oritentation (tag is perpendicular to reader, ie pointing at it) range is 20 cm. The round tags are not as good. worst case could be as low as 8 cm...
There's not that much difference between APR600 and AWR300. APR600 with typical sheep tag maximum range is 8 inches. AWR300 with the same tag is 10 inches so there's a 2 inch read range difference. in worst orientation APR600 is 5 inches and AWR300 is about the same
Phones not easy to read in sunlight. Not good in rain. Struggle to retain battery fur a full day especially if linked via BT. Drop a £1000 iPhone in the muck and you'll not be in best form. While a pocket reader is robust. Battery lasts for days. Costs less than top of the range phone. Can have...
Awr300 read range is a couple of inches more than the Apr600. On the other hand Apr600 has a numeric keyboard and awr300 doesn't. There's a clip on extension available for the Apr600. So it can be a one handed stick when you want it to be and when stick unclipped it's a pocket reader.
update of previous post where I stated all 5 models of Agrident are compatible with HerdWatch. updated info: all 5 readers are compatible with HerdWatch runing on an android device. only the AWR250 and AWR300 are compatible with HerdWatch running on a iPhone. This is a certification issue with...
Many thanks for the positive comments Cheeshead. Regarding memory, the only memory issue we've ever had is the memory card falling out. It's easy to pop back in apart from having to unscrew all the screws at the back and opening carefully. I'd say frequency of this issue would be 1 in 200 to 400...
If meal feeding late lambs the 90 day weight will be skewed a bit in positive direction for those lambs. But if feeding meal weigh earlier and drop to 80 days
90 days is just an arbitrary value you can change the formula to whatever days you like in Select Sheepware you specify the days for 1st value and again for 2nd value. In reality you'll end up with an almost 100% correlation between the best performing ewes at 56 days and 90 days and in fact...
KingCustard, The APR600 links to all of the Trutest scales. the weight comes back from the scale to the APR600. The free software which we provide will download the weights from the reader to a PC and show weight and weight gain per day since last weighed. the APR600 has a full numeric keypad...
