I'm on the same timescale as you. Contracts up in April. Turned my nose up at what seemed a ridiculous price quote in May, only for it to double. Still a while until April, but it just seems to keep getting higher and higher.

Would it be possible to try and get a domestic electricity contract, instead of commercial. Farmhouse and cottage going through it after all, aswell as the parlour. Price cap at 21p/kw, going up to 28p/kw certainly looks attractive - but how naughty would it be?

42p night rate and 58p day I've just been quoted. Having turned my nose up at 25 and 37 early May. So the £10k/ year bill will become 30k.

Does anyone alter the formula on the platemeter through the season? The manual does suggest changing it as the grass changes from vegetative to reproductive, with stem elongation. Or do you just change your understanding of the figures it provides as the season rolls on. With they're probably...

I've fed DDG, SBP and home barley mix no problem anyway. Although the feed bin struggled a bit to keep it moving. Need one of those vibration things on the side of it. Anyone know where you get them?

No, as long as you do it straight after feeding the whole side. So generally draw out the first half, walk to the back and close back gate and feed whole side, then top up any heifers on my way back to the front, to then start attaching the first half of units.

Delighted with it though, and wish I'd done it years ago.
