    Specially Qualified Person - SQP

I think you are right. I was thinking of lamb creep with deccox in. I think poultry feed with anticoccidiostat is different.

    Specially Qualified Person - SQP

Suitably Qualified Person. The most vague title I've ever heard 🤣

    Specially Qualified Person - SQP

I used to be an SQP - in my day it was a two day (I think!) course followed by a written assignment. It's overseen by AMTRA. They've since changed the categories I think so some SQPs are only qualified for, say small animals or horses. It's not overly onerous. There is a requirement to do CPD...

    Health and Safety Audit.

We use CXCS for H&S and find them practical and sensible.

    Farmers and Universal Credit

In fact I think they do - from what I've seen on the Facebook group there is quite a lot of info to be handed over monthly.

CS CAPITAL GRANT I NEED HELP PLEASE WITH A CLAIM !

It's a capital claim in a mid tier agreement. Is yours a standalone capital grant? (The revenue claim is the annual claim for ongoing field options rather than capital works like fencing, water, tracks etc)

CS CAPITAL GRANT I NEED HELP PLEASE WITH A CLAIM !

Check the requirements for that option in your agreement. Or look it up on the manual, online for the relevant year. Don't quote me on it but I don't think invoices need to be sent in for fencing, you just need to keep them in case of an inspection. Re photos, i just took one in each field of...

How long would one of these last on light farm duties??

We phoned and asked... It's 1 wheel drive...

    Best printer for photographs

Have a look at the free prints app. For the price of the postage you can get 45 photos a month printed 'free'.

Cattle tag and passport mix up

This happened to us buying heifers from Ireland once. Our half load was shared with someone else and when they were put in lairage at the dock two swapped pens! We didn't find out until months later. I think (it's a while ago!) we contacted the haulier and tracked down the other farm. Then we...

TB Restrictions, options for beef calves

I don't think payment is dependant on C&D forms. I know I've had it before where they wouldn't remove restrictions because we hadn't sent back C&S forms and we've definitely never had payment delayed on reactors.

TB Restrictions, options for beef calves

It's probably the c&d form from when you had the reactors at the original breakdown. You should c&d wherever you've isolated them. There is a box to tick if you isolated them at grass and then you are supposed to leave it destocked for a certain length of time. Six months I think

    Organic in SFI

CS is a five year agreement. The organic conversion period is two years, hence the two year term on OR1/OR3. I would imagine it's mandatory to follow up with OR1 and OR3 for the remainder of the agreement. There are plenty of hoops to jump through for organic conversion, including inspections...

    Unused holiday entitlements

With the caveat that employers can stipulate that annual leave cannot/may not be taken at a busy time of year. We state March in our employees' written statement of employment particulars. It's use it or lose it, I don't think the employer can buy it off you. But with enough notice you should...

SFI - Self Help and Tips

I was thinking of a physical folder too. I'm usually a digital documents person but I feel like I need it all in one place.

    Land lines

I'd say it's probably a scam. Had a phone call this week telling me BT were doing away with copper. We've been fibre to the premises for about 4 years, if it was genuinely BT they would surely know that. They usually get pretty short shrift from me.

    All things Dairy

We've done it by taking individual samples and dropping them into NML and running payment tests on them - I think it's about £1.50 a sample. We are only about an hour from the Wolverhampton lab tho. We tested some cows we already knew were high cells. From what I can remember it wasn't very...

    Farmers weekly female farmers.

I am in two minds about it. On the one hand, we shouldn't need it, much like Women in Dairy. But those of us who don't think it's needed, aren't the target. If women who wouldn't have considered the industry are made to feel more welcome, isn't that a good thing? Heaven knows there seems to be a...

SFI - Self Help and Tips

Well, phoned RPA today to see if they had any updates. The chap said NE could take ages to get back to me so I decided I would get the ball rolling on withdrawing the application so I asked for a call back from the SFI team... Ten minutes ago had a reply from NE confirming I don't need any...

SFI - Self Help and Tips

Same here and the only option I've put on is HRW1 which is literally a written assessment of the hedgerow, no physical action on the ground. For that parcel it's worth £6 a year to me 🤦🏼‍♀️ I asked if I could take that parcel out but apparently not without withdrawing the whole application and...
