New Thread started, with this as opening post .
And it can't move up any time soon.
Why?
It's simple, you push up the price of beef and people will drop it from their weekly shop and replace it with chicken.
From here, simple economics comes in to play, poor demand, price falls, so your...
Smiths Gore's Agricultural Rents Survey reveals that rents have risen by an average of 28%. Arable FBT rents are the highest both in terms of percentage increase in value per acre. While commodity prices have softened, multiple bids are still being received for land offered by tender...
Was sitting with a guy today and we were discussing the ways that farmers look at things.
He gave me an example from his own business when he was ordering sheep feed a couple of years ago and he managed to screw the cost down by a tenner a tonne with a lesser quality blend. He was so chuffed to...

Delighted to read that a 10.5 metre table is mid sized.
Where does that leave me and brother with our 13 foot?
Thinking it must be 12 metres is large, 10 metres is medium and by extension 8...

Loving this one puts an interesting spin on some of the veggie rubbish that's out there
I've just been reading the 2 Simons theory topic and had a bit of a thought.

@admin should there perhaps be a sticky about this subject. @Cab-over Pete and @Mounty do a great job of answering similar questions at least once a week and I'm sure by now the forum must be getting clogged up with the same question time and again.

I am currently reading Newman Turner, Fertility Farming at the moment, a book that was written in 1951.
At the start of chapter 7 he discusses the returns from dairying and quotes that the average farm is spending 50% of the milk cheque on feed and 25% on labour.
60 years on and has much changed?
Have been offered this FOC delivered and spread.
Have been told that at a spread rate of 20t/ha there is
160 kg/ha N
20-30 of P & K
40 of S
Also equivalent to 2.5t/ha of lime.
No heavy metal issues
No impact on farm assurance.
Brother and I have just taken our home farm back in hand from a...
Does anybody know where I can get the turbo flange to exhaust silencer pipe for a 7610 engined machine?
Old one has broken up and brother nearly vomited last day shifting straw with fume inhalation!!
