On that same argument you should not of been able to restore your pretty ruined mill Im sure it was pretty when ruined - Some protection yes but not stopping people producing and learning - and the valley is not their for people to walk - I have the busiest cycle path in north yorkshire cutting through me - That is irrelevant though isnt it really? The pretty views are nice, but the public walking and riding doesnt mean my land suddenly becomes theirs for the view. Anyway having let land and worked with CSA groups in the past I can assure you, your more likely to see 3 or 4 polly tunnels and an acre or so of improvised ground cover, and if all goes well, something that resembles the Charles dowding gardens, but that will take them years to get their, they really need £10k an acre for what they're trying to do (I've read their FB and crowd funding - they're woefully underestimating their needs). In all honesty your best bet is to help and support them, get on your tractor and plough their field for them - thats what I did. I cant stand the vegan members of my local group - but hell, they would be long gone without me and my iron pony. You want a success - a failure will mean the land sold off as 3 little paddocks of 4 acres and you'll end up with horsey neighbors - if you want hell to moan about they will give you it. And my personla opinion ABSOLUTLY no protection for a view for others, is ever morally justified as long as the materials theyre using are genuinely being used for producing food - which is the purpose of farming afterall. I've donated them £10.
