I’ve just bought a Fordson Dexta from Lewis McBride at the Malvern tractor show, 23 February 2019. As it was in the indoor area they said they couldn’t start it up due to the exhaust fumes, but they promised me “it’s a straight, honest little tractor and there is nothing wrong with it”. I paid on the basis of this and (courtesy of Google) I saw they had a strong web presence in the tractor area - he’s even been on the front cover of a magazine, so with no reason to doubt them I paid in full that same day, he delivered the tractor that evening as promised. I have so far discovered the tractor has a blown head gasket, the radiator core has a hole in it and it leakes coolant, 2 tyres have slow punctures, and I hadn’t noticed at the time of delivery that he had taken the draw bar fitting of the linkage arms, which were on the tractor when I agreed to buy it. I haven’t got much further than that in the one week I’ve owned the tractor. I am extremely disappointed with Mr McBride and www.lmcbridetractors.co.uk. I haven’t bothered contacting them, they were far from honest on the condition of the tractor, so I doubt they’d have anything positive to say. Please make your own decision as to whether or not you give Mr McBride your business. Personally, I couldn’t afford to lose the addition money I’m now spending on putting the tractor right, and the extra months I’m going to lose with a tractor in the workshop being made good is extremely frustrating, especially after they promised me it was a good tractor. The image below contains my new Fordson Dexta, purchased that day from Lewis McBrides stand at the Malvern tractor show.
