Some of you seem to think she's the devil in human form; personally I think she's done quite well in a lot of things up until fairly recently when its all gone a bit tits up. Hence I can only conclude that the problems within the NFU run much deeper than the leader. Take the sponsorship of their conference for example, supermarket after supermarket after supermarket. Since when have they been on our side? The very nature of the NFU trying to suck up to the likes of ASDA etc is they cant say anything that might annoy them - usually the things that need saying in the farmer's interests! That I'm sure is partially why they are so keen on RT (and GFC), remember "If you dont like it, find another buyer". I believe that the outside interests which have wormed their way into the NFU are the major issue, and I cant see it changing any time soon. What is the personal benefit to Minette of pushing through the GFC and forcing everyone to stay in RT? Is there one? I cant think of one myself. All it's done is tarnish her legacy. The ones that win from it also happen to be the ones shoveling in money... funny that isnt it?
Do you recall the exact wording of your tweet? Seems strange she would get funny if you had used the same words she had? There is always someone trying to slience someone else. Its becoming a massive problem in this country more generally as freedom of speech seems to be a rather old fashioned idea... Partly why I'm not a fan of twitter is it is based off of followers and reposting things to them. I much prefer this forum as one can put a post on and there is pretty much an equal chance of someone viewing my post as there is someone viewing yours. Twitter will also show people what they want to see, which doesnt help at all. As a way of the great and the good announcing stuff to us lowly masses, it's great. As a way of everybody having a proper discussion, not so much. On if the NFU will change post Batters, I don't hold the same view of her that some on here do.
