[QUOTE="Anymulewilldo, post: 8142207, member: 144597"] Well the old fella has been feeling better again so I took him for a ride out in the wagon too Longtown this morning. Trade for old ewes and lambs looked ridiculous, buying them at finished price before you’ve fed them all summer/autumn. Bought a few texel x shearlings and twins, £86 & £93/life. Then hoggs & lambs started. Only a handful of mules in. Prize pens £250+/outfit bought 2 pens £240 & £216. Bottom end looked very dear £170. Pen of stretchy lean Suffolk mules with single belted lambs, £220 stronger fitter sorts £222-£280 best over £300. texel crosses bought from £208-£240, very pleased with them. All first cross hoggs. Poor end below £200, best £260-£300 Hogg twins £78-£90/life looking well sold. Highlights were 2 pedigree Dutch spotted ewe hoggs with pedigree twin ewe lambs at foot. Biggest family made £750/life! Smaller outfit £620. Grandad had a brilliant day, helped buy buying a wagon load of sheep! I didn’t get bollocked for going too far or missing anything so either he wasn’t paying attention (unlikely) or I managed too get it right!
