I replaced a synchro pack in a Deutz 6.50-185 once that had a ZF box! Nightmare of a thing to work on but built like a tank!! IIRC top cover off, rear axle off, gearbox casting then came off the bellhousing. Did it all with the cab still in place as we started in corner of workshop with just taking side plates etc off!! Had to actually cut one gear off the end of the shaft with it in situ as they were sweated on a taper and only an inch or two clearance in front of it therefore no way to get a puller on. Everyone who had done one had cut them off!! Parts prices were astronomical aswell, disc cutter and gas torch on a £400 gear!!:cry::cry::cry::cry:
