Running a Claas Dominator 108VX combine and looking into overhauling the drum and concave. Rasp bars are worn out on drum, Concave is in straight order and would maybe do a couple more seasons but ideally want to change the lot. Quite fancy the Hardox steel concave made by “combine fabrications”. Apparently It’s based on the Australian “Nichols” concave. Doesn’t require a de-awner rasp bar at the start of the concave like our current setup has, Should this be a concern? Price wise I’ve been quoted £2000 for this concave which is pretty much the same as from the local Claas stealers. Our concave is a wired one in 3 segments but the hardox setup would be a one piece unit based on the frame that supports the segments in ours. Has anybody used one of these concaves and are you pleased with it?
