do you think its jealousey....im not sure on that........could it be that the reality of ageing/illness etc is leading to resentment/insecurity/fear of the reality of getting old......A bit like a past there sell by date sports start or actor or model that no longer gets picked to play their sport or no more roles to act or no longer suitable to be a model ...This must be a massive mental health issue when they decline from their heyday .....in this instance the farmer usually cant do what they used to do .They arnt as switched on with the latest tech and evolution in farming processes .They are usuaslly totally resentfull of the latest rules that are imposed on them by all the schemes .They are being called out by those around them and this al leads to lashing out at those around them ....In most normal relationships they would normally train up those followingand cede responsability gradually untill eventually they just go around giveing there wise wisdom when its asked for ...This is the healthy way for sucession .Its the wont let go of anything ,people who have the issues ,that then cause grief for those around them............I cant see any change in this issue unless there where incentives to hand down....Money and tax being the major factor . If inheritance tax was zero at retirement age but then started increaseing after that age then there sure as hell would be a lot less succession problems as the accountants would be pushing for valid and workable plans formulated for the day retirement age was reached and not holding on for years / decades/dimensia or death that is happening all too frequently now
