It's a bit like the old shepherds' chairs. Made to be so uncomfortable that you doze only - and that's only when completely nacred. Doubt he'd had time to tend a fire or woodburner, so ousting the dogs and resting in front of the stove not a bad idea. He didn't have to undress, either. I watched most of the programme on 5+1 so as not to miss BBC 2 quiz hour. Hilarious that most of the ewes lambed during ad breaks. Too many ad breaks. Too much stupid music. Excellent that hand washing was shown. Too many lambing interventions. It's a bad habit that creeps up on show farms that, over time, forget needs of stock in order to entertain the visitors. Maybe they've had too many rude, shirty, entitled sorts demanding money back if not enough action? (I've seen puntahs do that at non-farming tourist places when the weather changed.) The Vet was a breath of fresh air, as was Gloria Hunniford. She was a nice surprise. The main presenters were superfluous. Found self wondering if they'd done a risk assessment when the Slebri'y took a selfie with the newborn Zwarbles? Think he was lucky the ewe was too intimidated to defend her lambs using normal behaviour. His cosmetic dentistry could have been considerably rearranged by a headbutt. On balance, This Farming Life and Lambing Live win by a country mile, but I'd very much like to see more of the Brothers Neill. As someone said upthread, the item from the brother shown last night was far more real and representative than the live broadcast. The other two will probably be equally good and informative. Having said that, I won't be making an appointment to view the rest of the week. If I happen to be in during broadcast time, I won't not watch it, though.
