Said email to Chip Express: Dear Peter, Thank you for your email. Here is a link to a thread on The Farming Forum regarding the subject which I am sure you will be very interested in: https://thefarmingforum.co.uk/index.php?threads/fastrac-2170-chip.201624/#post-4555100 I am “Two Tone” and “Rjnjcb2135” is Robert Xxxxxxxx, from Cornwall, who you sold the original kit to for his Fastrac 2170. I can’t tell you how impressed I am with your product, albeit bought 2nd hand from Robert. It has completely transformed our 2155 Fastrac. Without the chip, the tractor would struggle up that hill. As I’d start to go up it, I’d have to change down gears to keep the engine revs above 1,500 RPM as follows: 6th highest (Hare) split, to 6th middle (Tortoise) split, to 6th lowest (Snail) split, THEN missing out all 3 splits in 5th gear, now having using the (foot) clutch, go to 4th middle (Tortoise) split, to 4th lowest (Snail) split, hoping like hell that I could avoid having to drop into 3rd gear! Forward speed is now down to about 21 kph With the chip, I can forget ever having to miss out all of the 5th gears as follows: 6th highest (Hare) split, to 6th middle (Tortoise) split, to 6th lowest (Snail) split, then using the clutch, go to 5th middle (Tortoise) split, to 5th lowest (Snail) split, which she will pull all the way up that hill at comfortably! Forward speed is up at about 30 kph I am over the moon about it. As I am sure, is all the traffic that used to get stuck behind me! The hill in question is on the A3400, just south of Long Compton. It is a 1.25 miles drag of about 1:10. Also impressive is that the engine now has far more torque at lower than the 1,500 RPM, which the engine would seem to give up at. Anyway, hope that this helps you. Sorry not to have bough it from you new. I must admit as to having been very sceptical about chips, hence my being tempted to buy this 2nd hand version from Robert. As mentioned on the thread. In 2014, I purchased one of the very last new 2155 Fastracs because it was £4,000 cheaper than the 2170. Both tractors are 100% identical except for the ECU, which determines the horsepower differences. Our dealer, Geoff Lockwood of Lower Quinton Garages, told me that if I wasn’t happy with the power of the 2155, that they could fit a chip that would take the engine to over 200 hp for about £395.
