I thought all people get these from time to time. I first noticed them 20 odd years ago but my optician was not concerned and said it is a sign of age. So Wednesday , I had 30 minutes previously had my Covid booster and was driving home when a very large one appeared ( I am of course talking eye floaters 😂) It appeared suddenly like a large snake coming up into my vision, and if I had been in a position to stop I would have done so, as I only had a mile to go I drove steadily home, during which time it changed drastically into a mesh like structure across my left eye vision. Having just had the jab I tried my local surgery to get someone to look at it, but I think the phones were off the hook, so ended up going to A&E. after 3 hours finally doctor took one look and asked me to return to see the eye clinic first thing next day. The consultant was very good gave me a very thorough check over and announced nothing to worry about this time, but he did explain what had happened and it was very important to seek assistance as blindness can occur quickly. Apparently a minute blood vessel on the back of the eye had come loose then ruptured . Luckily the bleeding had stopped fairly quickly. However he said that if it had not stopped and not been treated within 24 hours severe damage would be the result. In this situation it is critical if you notice a lack of vision building in the corner of the eye, seek help urgently
