Ah, Ruth Dudley, the revisionists revisionist! She wrote of the British Empire the following “For the truth is that, as empires go, the British version was the most benevolent of all. With all of its deficiencies, it brought much of value to the countries it occupied”. Tell that to the people of Drogheda, Clonmel, Cork City! Tell that to the cities of Limerick and Waterford, who had their ports taken over to ship food and timber to the colonial armies overseas, when the famine was raging in Ireland. Tell that to the people of Amritsar! Tell that to the people’s of South Africa. Forget to acknowledge that concentrations camps were first used in war by the British empire in South Africa. Of course, all of that is in the past. But history can’t be changed. Revisionists like Ruth Dudley Edwards have zero credibility. What she has to say about past events is demonstrably incorrect. Consequently what she has to say about current events, isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. She even penned an excoriating review of the Film, “The wind that shakes the barley”, for the Daily Mail. Filled with stupid inaccuracies. When later challenged on TV about her review, she admitted she had never seen the film.... I kid you not!
