Just fitted a new head and gasket on a 4cyl Kubota. Reputable Kubota agent supplied a the parts. The head gasket is made of 2 sheets of very thin tin with fibre sheet in the middle. Initially I thought the tin bits were protective disposable layers but after a phone call I was assured that's how they are. Independent engine man I know said that's a 40 year old idea and wouldn't recommend using it. Anyway engine back together but is now using a bit of water. Oil is clean and no smoke from exhaust and can't see any obvious external leaks. Now suspecting the head gasket again. Head was re torqued after an hours use. Anyone else used tin gasket?
