Too true. I'm hopefully wrong but sometimes wonder if the chassis will outlast the engine, with the d-max anyway. Swilling diesel onto cylinder walls and down in to the sump by constant regenerating of dpf does not fill me with confidence. Though to be fair it's been a good enough pickup, issues aside. Despite frequent regens of late the oil level has never really risen, though she may be burning a bit of oil and topping up with diesel  Being auto I've never had problems with 1st gear being too high with a full trailer though in steep field gates I've dropped into low box for ease. It's fast enough on the motoway, happily tow all day and there are worse places to sit than d-max cabin as never been really uncomfortable on a long journey. It 'yucks' a bit with empty GH triaxle cattle trailer, though the Aussie lads on their d-max forum reckon Isuzu factory fit dampers aren't up to much! Rough local roads don't help. Fuel consumption is a bit too heavy but never expect a lot from a pickup. Ford dealer gave me a brochure the other day. In it, it says that the 2.2 has the option of 'economy' or 'towing' final drive and according to their figures towing capacity drops from 3500 to 2500kg with economy final drive. Don't think 'economy' is an option with the 3.2 - only power and speeed  Anyone with a VW Amorak - is servicing and parts expensive?
