The 31 March deadline for responses to RABI’s Big Farming Survey is fast approaching and everyone linked to farming across England and Wales is being encouraged to take part. “The support that we’ve received since the launch of The Big Farming Survey in January has been incredible. We’d like to thank everyone who has already completed the questionnaire or promoted the research project more widely,” says RABI’s Chief Executive, Alicia Chivers. “However, the more comprehensive the data collected, the better the reflection on the daily realities of people from all sectors of agriculture and across all regions,” she adds. “We therefore want to hear from farmers, farm workers, contractors, spouses, adult-aged children and non-farming members of households.” She notes that everyone who participates will be making an important contribution. “The data collected will help identify how increasingly complex challenges within the sector are impacting people’s physical and mental wellbeing, as well as the health of farming businesses. This will enable us to formulate more effective tools and support strategies to enhance farmer wellbeing now and into the future.” The survey, delivered in partnership with the Centre for Rural Research based at the University of Exeter, runs until 31 March 2021 and takes 15 minutes to complete. It can be accessed online at rabi.org.uk/BigFarmingSurvey Alternatively, printed copies in English and Welsh can be requested by emailing FarmSurvey@exeter.ac.uk
