Hello, work is a strong word, but I look after drilling operations in the California Central Valley. I’m not an expert on all of the immigration laws and policies and their effects and it is really hard to self teach on the subject as like everything else in the modern world despite our technology the decisions have degraded down to tribalism. Broadley speaking there are seasonal farm work visas available but I think the quota for these is being reduced which I guess forces some hard working folks to seek illegal status. The big meat packing houses such as Tyson used to prefer temporary or illegal status as it means the workers can’t seek alternative employment and they can keep the wages lower. The republican side is arguing on the basis of protecting against drug lords gang members and those that have already been deported of hideos crimes. The democrats are arguing to help those in need fleeing the same people the republicans are trying to ensure don’t get into America. The solution seems to be to grant permanent status to the good guys and children of good guys known as DACA while shoring up the border to prevent the bad guys coming in. The president has hinted he is willing to offer this. However the democrats are so entrenched in their position against the wall they find it hard to back down from this. They are trying to offer up the technology wall to come to the solution without appearing to back down to their base.
