I’m tempted to sign it myself, and I’m a ROI citizen. I’m tempted as ordinary people and ordinary businesses, particularly when at the ballot box, clearly said “we don’t want anything to do with this stupid idea! They the people l, KNEW their day to day lives within the EU were infinitely better, than anything English nationalists, Tory demagogues, Etonian Farts or the DUP could offer. The aforementioned collection of fraudsters have quite simply created an economic and constitutional crisis, which has only begun to play out. The protocol will be discussed in Westminster, the DUP will whinge and whine and embarrass themselves, Mogg and his motley crew will “sympathise” and declare “NI is an integral part of the Union”. There will be a bit of a declaration and blah, blah. There will be another dust up with the EU. There will be another fudge. The can will be kicked down the road. Of course there will also be some bedding in over time of these new border arrangements and life will return partly to normal. BUT, if your are a “loyal British unionist” from NI, you will forever feel shafted. You will forever rue the day Farage pulled the stunt, and forever rue the “our way or no way” mindset of the Unionist establishment and the DUP in particular. Are there any pragmatic unionists in politics who can now step up to deal with and make the best of life after the Union?
