The comprima double axle will definitely be easier on wet ground. It'll bale wet grass and make a gorgeous solid bale out of it, but...... In my experience baling long wet stemmy stuff, it's easier to block the intake on the Krone than a McHale. It happens when the driver (me!) doesn't notice a bit being dragged at the edge of the reel, lump gets drawn in, and the clutch pops. I don't know if it's the McHale or the man driving, but there's fewer stops with a green one. Drop the floor on the Krone, and it easily swallows most mistakes though. Feedback from a McHale owner who was wrapping bales from both Krone and his machine, is that "them bloody Krone bales are heavier, could tell which (bale) was which from the bang them ones made when lifted onto the wrapper table". There was actually a lot more swearing in that quote, but you get the jist! At 35000, the Krone will likely need new belts. I don't think they in themselves are that expensive (could be mistaken) but the labour cost to do the work is quite high according to my dealer. Anyone else on here know better? I changed from a fixed chamber roller to the variable chamber comprima. The huge advantage for me is that the comprima will make any crop into a bloody solid bale. Belts aren't so good in wet grass, rollers aren't so good in straw, but the belt and slat Krone hoovers up anything from grass running with water to straw powdered to dust. If it's only wet grass that is baling, then maybe a fixed chamber would be better?
