should have maybe said that another reason for going now is that going skiing next week and dont want to be thinking I should have been at home putting fert on whilst cruising the blues and dancing on the tables
The truth will out! Bloody arable farmers off skiing!
Enjoy yourself, and at least 6 weeks potential winter snow here yet.

Did our first bit today, urea @ 45kg N/H on some osr, we plan to keep picking fields off that will travel. a bit more osr in the morning then on to the barley. Can't see any of the wheat that wants a bit being fit to travel for a week or two same for the osr on the stronger land, luckily all the stronger bits had sewage sludge before drilling and looks well atm.

whats peoples thoughts on how much if any sulphur is required if muck or sewage sludge has been applied before drilling ?

Got started yesterday, some AS liquid to get things moving. Sprayer got stuck in first field where river had piled up silt, mostly not too bad though. Also spreading sylvinite and fibrophos for beet, lime spreading to do, ploughing for root crops and carrot digging.

Learnt years ago to miss first opportunity in the spring and be very cautious on second chance, as it usually ended up in a drain.

Not sure it'll be doing a lot, next door put theirs on on Monday, we had 26mm rain last night with fields flooded quite badly, not sure where their N ended up but could hazard a guess!!

I gave a field of barley a tickle of something just to help it perhaps when most folk would of said I was way too early , even agronomist told me I was wasting my time ,,,,,,,,, but when talking to him this week he said that it had really picked it up and looked far better than the bit which didn't get done

Yes but you didn't have over an inch of rain straight after application though did you? Grass here still seems to be growing, all be it very slowly, so would expect the crops to take it up. I think the danger being that crops aren't deep rooted currently and the amount of rain could wash the N deeper down into the soil profile and out of reach. I suspect the majority will have washed off, never seen the fields look so bad here, worse than in the middle of winter.
